Support
Eating Disorders do not just affect the client but also affects
the client’s loved ones. It is likely that these relationships
have been negatively impacted and have been altered in ways that
prevent a healthy relationship between the client and their loved
ones. Certified clinicians provide a weekly Multi-Family group.
This group provides loved ones and clients the opportunity to work
together in a supportive environment for recovery. Sessions address
a ten-week course of healing. Issues include communication, anger
management, shame, co-dependency, self-esteem, roles within the
family and additional addictions if appropriate in the milieu.
Discharge Planning and Aftercare
Discharge planning at Discovery Paths is an important component
in the treatment of our clients. We assist each participant in setting
realistic goals for healthy living. We provide ongoing support in
our Multi-Family group after discharge. Participants are welcome
to attend the Multi-Family groups for four weeks after completion
of the program. We also assist in referrals for those who need continuity
of care.
