Treatment Planning
Before admission to Discovery Paths, clients undergo a comprehensive assessment of their physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and family needs to determine if the program is the appropriate level of care. In addition, prior to admission, the client must have a physical exam by a physician; full blood work-up; an EKG; and bone density scan.
The treatment team includes a Registered Dietitian/Nutrition Therapist and Licensed Psychotherapists who develop an individual treatment plan for each client. The staff meets on a regular basis to review each client’s progress and to clarify treatment goals. The treatment team works closely with each client and their family to ensure that the treatment plan meets the current needs of the client.
Since Discovery Paths is an outpatient program, clients must be under the care of their family physician and/or a psychiatrist. If a client does not have a family physician or psychiatrist, Discovery Paths can provide referrals.
