Treatment Program Discovery Paths treatment program is based on the belief that an Eating Disorder is not really about food or weight. An individual’s obsession about weight, size/shape, food, dieting and exercise are symptoms that mask underlying problems and concerns. At Discovery Paths, the underlying issues behind the symptoms will be addressed and explored, while the risks are alleviated. We address the psychological, emotional, behavioral, relational and medical issues of our clients. We work with our clients to gain insight, tools, and techniques to build healthy, happy and fulfilling lives. We work with our clients to create a sense of personal empowerment in order to feel real control over all domains of their life. Our program is ideal in providing our clients a safe place where they can receive knowledge and education that they can use to integrate into their daily life. We encourage our clients to practice what they have learned from the program and to come back at their next session to explore and discuss their experiences so that they can continue to grow and develop in their recovery. We believe that without the cycle of practice, process, practice etc… our clients will not be able to make the necessary changes in their lives to fully recover from their eating disorders. At Discovery Paths, we tailor our program topics and activities to meet the needs of the current clientele; therefore group topics and activities will vary. Specialized Groups
