Eating Disorder Quiz

Do you think you or someone you love may have an Eating Disorder? Take our quiz.

Are you preoccupied with food, calories, weight or size?
Do you divide foods as either “good” or “bad”?
Do you make excuses for not eating?
Do you alternate between restricting the amount of food you eat to eating very large quantities of food?
Do you often complain about feeling fat?
Is your hair falling out or becoming dry and brittle?
Do you believe you are in control of your life when you control what you are eating?
Are you often cold?
Do you weigh or check your body frequently during the day?
Have you stopped menstruating (or having very irregular menstrual cycles)?
Is your appearance the defining feature of your self- esteem?
Do you need to practice compensatory behaviors such as vomiting, using laxatives or diuretics or exercising in order to allow yourself to eat?

Scoring

Five or more positive answers indicate that there is a dysfunctional relationship with your food and your weight. It is highly recommended that you seek professional help for a full evaluation and course of treatment.
